Yes it is difficult to start, but more difficult to finish! I lost sight of the big picture because I had accomplished a certain goal but reality set in for me.
Sometimes the only difficult hurdle which you have to overcome to get to your goal is the success you have achieved so far. Some of us become complacent when we achieve one thing or the other! We stop growing and setting new goals. Often our minor success moments makes us complacent. And complacency is the greatest detriment to your stretching out to your higher goals. Kill your complacency before it kills your growth.
Achieving your goals require strength of character and uncommon discipline to keep pushing forward. We all have 24 hours in a day, whether young or old, male or female. But it’s not the hours that make the difference. It is what we put in those hours. Where does your focus go? Where does your energy flow? What do you spend your time on? And who do you spend your time with? These will tell whether or not you are serious about your goals! Some of us are casual with our dreams. You can tell by our character. We may say we want to achieve our dreams but, we don’t. Because we are not prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice. We want it but we don’t want it badly. We are not prepared to put in the hard work and to pursue it with everything at our command. We don’t want to do the work, we hate the sweat but we want the glory! It won’t happen. If you really want to accomplish your dream, you must be willing to pay the price. Discipline yourself. Go into September running with a BANG!!!
That old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air … Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year’s mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.
