Florence “Flo-Jo” Griffith Joyner

Florence Delorez Griffith Joyner December 21, 1959 also known as Flo-Jo, was an American track and field athlete. She is considered the fastest woman of all time based on the fact that the world records she set in 1988 for both the 100 m and 200 m still stand and have yet to be seriously challenged.

On September 22, 1998 the world lost the most dominate female athlete in the world. Florence Griffith Joyner was to the track and field world, what we see in Serena Williams today. Florence lived and died as a champion, she only graced our earth for 38 years, she leaves a legacy for millions of aspiring track and field athletes. She died in her sleep as the result of an epileptic seizure.
